Who is Coached by Nix?

My love for running started with cross country and continued right through high school.  I remember watching the Comrades Marathon thinking “one day I will run that race, & I want to run in the Chappies top (which belongs to Benoni Northerns Running Club). When I left school, I forgot. After school life happened and my priorities changed. Thankfully in my early 30’s due to my competitive nature this passion was re-ignited.

My journey took me on a path from half marathons to marathons and then onto ultras where I can honestly say I feel most at home. Given a choice I will choose an Ultra on trail….at this point the longer the better. I have completed 5 Comrades marathons & 2 x 100milers. My goals for 2022/2023 include UTD 100km, MacMac 100miler and MacMac 200miler.

I love sharing my passion for the sport. Coaching allows me to share my love, for the run & the importance of ensuring that the sport remains FUN. During my early running days, I was plagued by injuries until I realised I was simply training wrong. Once I found the services of a coach I trusted, these constant niggles & injuries went away. I was training smarter and enjoying it more.

This is what I want to share with other runners.
